DOVE
PROJECT ALO
More than 21 million women in the U.S. are affected by alopecia, which often results in a bald head. Although, bald women are typically portrayed as villains in books, movies, and television.
To represent women with this auto-immune disease as the heroes they truly are, Dove will make and release a comic book that features a female heroine who suffers from alopecia.
Dove’s comic book will follow Alo the superhero with alopecia as she challenges stereotypes and shows what it truly means to be a hero.
In addition to the comic book, we partnered with popular video games, such as Fortnite, so Alo could become a playable character during Alopecia Awareness Month.
